Once again I thought I did a reasonable amount of research. This was an expensive mistake. I recently read after the fact, that Electrolux and Eureka are related and that explains my disappointment. Long ago I had a Eureka vaccum and really disliked the design of handling. I had vowed never to buy another. And now years later I bought the Electrolux.
This vaccum is very difficult to handle. The hose is stiff and kinds of whips all over knocking over items everywhere. This adds to my cleaning time, by having to move and remove everything in its path, and then having to replace items back again.
I also find the cord not long enough and placed at the very bottom back of the machine making it difficult not to place the machine on it constantly.
The vaccum and motorized head do an excellent job of cleaning, but the motorized head is loud, so the vaccum all together is not ultra silent. That's really not a problem for me. The head is larger than I thought and doesn't get under things like chairs, as much as I'd hoped. I super like (or hate) all the lights on the head. It shows all the dust and cat hair on the floor that I can't reach because the head is too large to fit under. At least I know it's there and after I'm done replacing everything the hose has knocked over, I can go back and dust the floors.
All in all I find myself hating to vaccum more now than ever. I'm back at Amazon to buy a cordless sweeper to use in between the times I should be actually vaccuming.
Too bad the higher ups at Electrolux aren't actually required to use their own products.
