I'm in the middle of a kitchen remodel. This Krause sink look like a copy of the German made Blanco Precision 512-747 32x19 single bowl undermount sink, at about 1/3 the price. Same 16 gauge 18/10 stainless. It looks like a great deal. But what is so off-putting is the great lengths this "Kraus" entity has gone to hide its origins. Their apparent official website [...] gave a number in New York, where someone confirmed the Kraus sinks are made in China. [...] is a confused, alternate website. "About Krause" goes on with meaningless blather about design, but nothing specific about the company. Googling "krause sink review" brings up [...]--an apparent fake review website, full of amateurishly written sink "advice", with no names or sources quoted. Again the site gives no detail on its origins.
I suggest to the China based parent company making the Kraus sinks, that they are losing more customers than they'd lose by being upfront. Have a real website, with something to the effect that "Kraus uses the efficiency of China manufacturing to produce excellent quality at an unheard of price" would be a start.
Given the evasiveness of Kraus, I'd worry about warranty service, quality control, whether it really is 16 gauge and quality stainless, etc. I'm probably going to either buy the real thing (Blanco) or a different, less expensive, non-Kraus sink.
