Celluloid rosette and binding complete the look.
Mahogany Body With Spruce Top The Mahogany/Spruce combo is a pretty common choice in acoustic tonewoods, whether for basses or guitars. Mahogany boasts a wide dynamic range, perfect for ampifying your nuance and still sounding good when you lay into it. The spruce accentuates the bass and treble end of things. It also just looks great, with the deep brown mahogany contrasting the satin-finish spruce. 34-Inch Mahogany Neck The EAB features a mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, and classic pearl dot inlays. It boasts a rosewood bridge to match, with a contemporary "sliver" shape that's all Dean. Celluloid Binding and Rosette Speaking of looks, the EAB has plenty, enhanced by the celluloid rosette and body binding. Dean Tuners Dean diecast tuners complete the hardware ensemble, ensuring you stay in tune even when you're plugged in and rocking out. Dean Passive Preamp The EAB sounds great on its own, but sometimes you want to turn things up a bit (or plug into an audio interface for recording, perhaps). The onboard Dean preamp offers basic volume and tone controls to dial in just the sound you need.

This review is from: Dean Acoustic-Electric Bass Satin Finish (Electronics)
For the price, I was very pleased. Nearly everything about the guitar is perfect! The passive pickup allows direct plug-in to a stereo through a 1/4" to RCA cable (also available on Amazon for under $7). The only issue I had with this product is that the fret markers seemed to bulge out of the fingerboard a little...this seems to create a tinny feedback when popping or plucking. I may file them down in the future, but it's not terrible.

Wonderful beginner/intermediate instrument.
