At first I was contemplating on this phone or the Nexus Prime, but after seeing the price of the prime I went ahead and got the S2. I am really glad I did because I don't see the prime being worth ~50% more than what I paid for S2 (Just to have a slighly bigger screen and ICS-at least those are the only two additional features i was interested in). My brother has the black i9100 while I got the ceramic white version. Personally I prefer the white version.
I am coming from a Nokia N900 so what impresses me most about this phone is the weight, slimness, screen size and to a lesser extent screen quality. Some people arent getting good battery life but I have to say mine does quite well. I unplugged my phone at about 7am and is now almost 5pm and I am still at 80% battery life. I used the phone to make a few calls, send a couple txts and msn msgs. MSN is running and so is Google talk, took a couple pics, sent them via email, golocker with live lockscreen is running and my wallpaper is also a live xmas one. I also did a few other things with various apps. Normally I charge the phone every night but if needed I could use the phone for 2 days easily.
What I didnt really like was the contact importation and integration system. It was kind of a mess after importing from google, facebook, twitter, msn etc. I also dont like only being able to join up to 5 contacts.
My Pros:
- nice screen size and colors
- light
- slim
- good looking phone
- speedy and fluid screen movements (almost as good as the iphone 4)
- takes great pics
- captures nice HD video
- lots of apps available since its android
- very respectable battery life
- microsd card slot
My Cons:
- back of phone can get quite hot
- no native mini or micro HDMI out
- although i like the screen size i wish the resolution was higher
I also have to add that OEM shop did a great job with fast shipping and they were VERY helpful in resolving a small issue I had. I would say they went beyond my expectations in terms of prompt response and actually solving my issue. I would defintely recommmend them.
